FIFA President Gianni Infantino is taking a well-earned summer break and chose Egypt as his getaway destination.
The Swiss football boss touched down in the coastal city of El Alamein, soaking in the sun and the hospitality that came with it.
His visit quickly turned into a blend of leisure and familiar faces, as Egypt’s Minister of Sports Ashraf Sobhi and Football Association President Hany Abu Rida dropped by to see him. The warm greetings didn’t stop there. Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly personally called Infantino to welcome him to the country and wish him an enjoyable stay.
Infantino’s stop in Egypt follows his trip to the United States for the 2025 Club World Cup. The tournament, which wrapped up in mid-July, ended with Chelsea lifting the trophy.
This year’s edition had a strong Arab presence, with five clubs from the region participating, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahly, Al-Ain, Wydad, and Esperance, adding extra flavor to the global event.
