Ghana international Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer was on target once again for Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga 2, scoring the opening goal in their thrilling 2-2 draw against Darmstadt on Sunday afternoon.
The winger, who has been in impressive form this season, started for his team in the Round 15 clash at home. Konigsdorffer’s clinical finishing was on full display when he opened the scoring in the 10th minute.
After meeting a well-placed pass inside the penalty box, he fired a precise shot into the bottom left corner, leaving the Darmstadt goalkeeper with no chance.
However, Darmstadt fought back, and their response came in the 33rd minute when Aleksandar Vukotic rose to meet a beautifully delivered cross, heading the ball past the keeper and into the lower right post to equalize for the visitors.
As the match approached halftime, Hamburger SV regained the lead with another fantastic strike. Adam Karabec collected a pass and, without hesitation, unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top left corner in the 45th minute, putting his side 2-1 up.
But Darmstadt wasn’t done yet. In the 63rd minute, Killian Corredor latched onto a cross in the penalty area and scored a well-executed shot into the bottom right corner to level the game at 2-2, where it would remain until the final whistle.
Despite the draw, Konigsdorffer’s goal and overall performance continue to highlight his importance to Hamburger SV.
The 21-year-old winger has now netted seven goals and provided one assist in just 14 appearances this season, showcasing his growing influence in the team’s attack.
