Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah has reportedly turned down an opportunity to join Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars, despite receiving approval for the transfer from his current club, Al-Nasr SC.
This decision opens the door for South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, who have now engaged Sowah’s agent in discussions over a potential move.
Sources from Tanzania suggest that Al-Nasr SC had agreed on a transfer fee of $220,000, and Sowah had already settled on personal terms with Singida Black Stars.
However, the 24-year-old forward has opted to pursue a move to Kaizer Chiefs instead. The South African club views him as a key target and is working actively to finalize the deal.
Sowah’s stellar performances in the Ghana Premier League, where he scored 19 goals in 35 matches, have made him a sought-after talent. His experience with Medeama SC and Al-Nasr SC positions him to make an immediate impact in the South African league.
Kaizer Chiefs’ interest in Sowah is a testament to his growing reputation as one of African football’s most promising goal-scorers.
