Ghana’s Forson Amankwah earns spot in Championship Team of the Week

Forson Amankwah

Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah has earned a well-deserved spot in the SkyBet EFL Championship Team of the Week after his dazzling performance in Norwich City’s dramatic 2-1 win over Coventry City this past weekend.

Amankwah, who came on as a substitute in the dying minutes of the match, made an instant impact by scoring two crucial goals in the 91st and 95th minutes, propelling Norwich to a stunning comeback victory.

This performance is all the more impressive given that the 22-year-old had not featured in seven consecutive matches prior to this outing, underlining his resilience and determination to make the most of his opportunity.

His remarkable contribution was duly recognized with a place in the Team of the Week, alongside teammate Kenny McLean, who also earned honors for his efforts.

Reflecting on his performance, Amankwah spoke about the challenges he’s faced and the confidence he’s regaining with each passing match.

To date, the midfielder has tallied two goals and two assists in 17 appearances for Norwich this season, and his late heroics have raised expectations ahead of their upcoming FA Cup Third Round clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on January 11.
