Ghana’s Fatawu Issahaku hails Leicester City’s comeback draw at Oxford United
Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has hailed his Leicester City teammates following a hard-fought draw against Oxford United in the English Championship.
The Black Stars winger started and played for 75 minutes as his outfit staged a strong comeback to secure an all-important away draw against Oxford United.
The much-anticipated clash, held at the Kassam Stadium ended 2-2, with Issahaku registering an assist in the match.
“Thanks to the traveling fans for their support. Nothing much to say about this game things like this happens in games but is how we stood up and got something from it, amazing desire from the lads yesterday. Now we prepare again on to the next” he wrote on Instagram.
Oxford United opened the scoring, just nine minutes into the match through Will Lankshear before experienced attacker Jordan Ayew swiftly pulled parity in the 13th-minute mark.
Before the halftime break, the home team found the back of the net to restore their lead in the game following an own goal Boubakary Soumaré.
Leicester City showcased resilience and determination in the match, with Issahaku setting up Ricardo Pereira to level the pegging as the game ended in a draw.
Issahaku and his Leicester City side will now shift their attention to the upcoming Championship clash against Coventry scheduled for September 20.
