Leicester City coach Martí Cifuentes has eulogized Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku following his outstanding display in the preseason friendly game against Fiorentina.
The Black Stars winger, who recently recovered from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury was unplayable as the Foxes cruised to a 2-0 victory over the Italian club at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Issahaku scored a brilliant solo goal in the preseason friendly clash to mark his return to action at the King Power Stadium in grand style.
The former Dreams FC star was making only his third appearance since returning from the injury that kept him sidelined for most of last season.
“Abdul was outstanding. He was enjoying it. It was a brilliant goal. At the same time, when Abdul is doing well, it’s because Stephy is doing well on the other side, showing the same level of threat” he said.
Issahaku featured in 11 matches last season before the injury derailed his campaign. Now, fully fit, he’s expected to play a key role as Leicester City push for an immediate return to the Premier League after their 2024/25 relegation.
