Ghana’s Black Stars open camp in Vienna ahead of March friendlies against Austria and Germany

The Black Stars of Ghana have opened camp in Vienna, Austria, ahead of their March international friendly games.

As many as 14 out of the 26 invited players reported to camp on Sunday night before several others joined camp on Monday.

Under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, the team has already begun training sessions aimed at sharpening tactics and building cohesion ahead of two key matches.

Ghana will first take on Austria national football team on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to face Germany national football team three days later.

The opening training session also provided an opportunity for new players to integrate into the squad, while teammates celebrated Antoine Semenyo following his recent Carabao Cup success with Manchester City.

Looking ahead, Ghana have been drawn in Group L for the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. The Black Stars will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto.

The upcoming friendlies are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the squad and fine-tuning preparations ahead of the global showpiece.
