Ghana’s Black Maidens arrive in Morocco to step up preparations for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

Ghana’s Black Maidens have arrived in Morocco to begin a two-week training camp as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The team travelled to Morocco via Royal Air Maroc with a 35-member delegation comprising 21 players and 14 officials.

The squad will be based in Casablanca, where head coach and his technical team will use the camp to fine-tune their preparations and build the team ahead of the global tournament.

The Black Maidens will also test their readiness against China in an international friendly on Sunday, October 5, as part of their preparations in Morocco.

The friendly is expected to provide the technical team with an opportunity to assess the players and work on tactical combinations before the World Cup.

Ghana have been handed a difficult Group C draw for the tournament, with Canada, Brazil and Norway standing in their way of progressing to the knockout stage.

The Black Maidens will therefore hope the intensive training programme in Casablanca gives them the required preparation to compete against some of the world’s leading youth teams.

The camp also gives the players an opportunity to adjust to conditions ahead of the tournament and build cohesion within the squad.
