Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo unhappy with Bournemouth’s draw against Newcastle United
Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed his frustrations following AFC Bournemouth’s stalemate against Newcastle United in the English Premier League.
Semenyo started and lasted the entire duration of the match as his outfit played out a pulsating goalless draw against the Magpies on Sunday.
Semenyo, who was recently crowned as Bournemouth Player of the Month for August put up a good performance despite the sides inability to scoop maximum points.
However, the former Bristol City forward is perhaps disappointed with a point against Newcastle United, insisting the “bar has been set quite high”.
“We’ve been riding high for a little bit. I think the bar has been set quite high and it’s probably a fair result, but because of that maybe we’re disappointed” he told the club’s media.
“I think in the first-half we had opportunities, but it wasn’t to be and a point will have to do. Hopefully we can go to Leeds next week and take three”
Semenyo has been in a scintillating form for Bournemouth this season, scoring three goals and delivering two assists in five appearances in the Premier League.
His impressive start to the 2025/26 league season earned him the Player of the Month award for August at Bournemouth.
