The list reflects a season in which excellence has been spread across multiple clubs and roles, from defensive resilience to attacking firepower.
Semenyo’s rise has been one of the defining narratives of the campaign. He started the season at AFC Bournemouth, where his direct style, acceleration and growing composure in front of goal established him as one of the league’s most difficult forwards to contain.
His form quickly attracted Manchester City, who secured his signature during the January transfer window in a move aimed at reinforcing their attacking depth during a decisive phase of the title race.
The transition to Manchester City proved seamless. He contributed immediately under Pep Guardiola’s system, delivering goals and energy in high-pressure fixtures while adjusting to a more structured tactical framework.
Across February alone, he registered three goals and one assist in five appearances, a burst of productivity that earned him his first EA Sports Player of the Month award and strengthened his case among the league’s elite performers.
Over the course of the season, Semenyo has accumulated 35 Premier League appearances, producing 16 goals and four assists. Only Haaland, with 26 league goals, and Igor Thiago have surpassed his scoring tally among the nominees, underlining the scale of his attacking impact.
His numbers, combined with his adaptability across forward roles, have positioned him as one of the clearest examples of individual progression in the competition.
Public voting remains open until 12:00 BST on Monday, May 18, with supporters’ choices to be combined with assessments from a panel of football experts.
The overall winner will be announced on May 23, bringing closure to a tightly contested award race featuring several of the league’s most consistent performers.
