Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei is closing in on a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid from Granada, according to multiple reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old centre-back is expected to begin his career with Real Madrid’s reserve side as the club continues his development within its academy system.

Talks between the two clubs have gathered pace in recent weeks, with reports suggesting the deal could be finalised on Tuesday after Real Madrid moved ahead of other interested teams in the race for his signature.

Naasei has made two appearances for Granada in Spain’s second tier, La Liga 2, this season after continuing his rise since joining the club in 2023.

The Accra-born defender has steadily progressed through Granada’s ranks and established himself as a promising member of the squad.

His recent performances also earned him international recognition, as he was named in Ghana’s squad for the friendly against Mexico on 22 May before making his senior debut for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A move to Real Madrid would represent a significant step in the young defender’s career and could make him one of the latest Ghanaian players to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
