England-born winger of Ghanaian descent, Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, has completed a loan switch to French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg from English Premier League club Southampton.
The move, aimed at securing regular playing time, includes an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Announcing the signing, RC Strasbourg welcomed the talented teenager in a post on X, stating, “Welcome Samuel! Samuel Amo-Ameyaw has joined the club from Southampton FC on loan with an option to buy.”
Southampton also confirmed the transfer in an official statement, expressing their best wishes for the 18-year-old’s future.
“Southampton Football Club can confirm Sam Amo-Ameyaw has completed a loan move to French club RC Strasbourg. The 18-year-old winger has joined the Ligue 1 side for the remainder of the season, ahead of an agreed permanent transfer to the club in the summer. We would like to wish Sam the best of luck for the future and thank him for his contribution to the club during his time here,” the club stated.
Samuel Amo-Ameyaw now has the opportunity to develop further in France, with Strasbourg offering him the platform to establish himself at the top level.
