Mohammed Kudus expressed his delight at Tottenham’s strong start to the Premier League campaign following their emphatic 3-0 win over Burnley, highlighting the joy he takes in individual duels on the pitch.

Speaking after the match, the Ghanaian winger emphasised his attacking instincts and determination to make a difference for his side.

Having a 1v1 is what I crave for as a winger… I’m happy about the beginning, but it’s a long long marathon to go, Kudus told @CarrieBrownTV.

The 24-year-old was a constant menace for the Burnley defence, repeatedly driving forward with pace and purpose.

His ability to isolate full-backs and create danger in wide areas was a key feature of Tottenham’s performance, as Ange Postecoglou’s side produced a display of dominance and attacking fluidity.

Kudus’ comments reflect both his personal hunger and the collective ambition within the Spurs camp.

While pleased with the early momentum, he was quick to underline that consistency over the course of the season remains the ultimate test.

The winger’s mindset, balancing confidence with caution, mirrors the approach his manager has been keen to instil: maintaining high standards while keeping focus on the long journey ahead.

Tottenham’s supporters have quickly warmed to Kudus, whose flair, work rate and end product have added a fresh dimension to the team’s attacking options.

His willingness to take risks in the final third has provided Spurs with a directness that has often unsettled opposition defences.

Against Burnley, that approach once again paid dividends, with his relentless forward play contributing significantly to the team’s control of the contest.

The 3-0 win also continued Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the league campaign, strengthening their belief that they can compete at the highest level.

Kudus’ words serve as a reminder that while the team can take encouragement from their performances, the demands of a long Premier League season leave no room for complacency.

For Kudus personally, the early weeks of the season represent an opportunity to build rhythm and establish himself as a central figure in Tottenham’s attack.

His insistence on relishing one-on-one battles reflects a player who thrives on responsibility and relishes the chance to decide games through moments of individual brilliance.

As Tottenham look to sustain their early form, the determination and confidence of players like Kudus could prove vital in defining their ambitions.

His words, spoken in the immediate glow of victory, suggest a player focused not just on the highlights of today, but on the challenges of the long road ahead.
