Ghanaian winger Kingsley Sarfo has officially parted ways with APOEL Nicosia after the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to a notable chapter in his career with the Cypriot club.

Negotiations between the two parties over a potential contract extension failed to yield an agreement, prompting Sarfo’s departure after a successful spell that saw him reach a significant milestone with the team.

The 29-year-old, who joined APOEL in 2020, was recently honoured by the club after making his 100th appearance—an achievement that underlined his impact and consistency during his time in Nicosia.

Despite mutual interest in continuing the partnership, talks ultimately broke down over the terms of a new deal.

Sarfo’s contribution on the pitch has been widely acknowledged by fans and club officials alike.

Known for his agility, creativity, and ability to unlock defences, the winger played a key role in APOEL’s domestic campaigns, often serving as a dependable outlet on the flanks and a source of inspiration in crucial moments.

While his departure marks the end of a meaningful spell in Cyprus, it also opens the door to new opportunities for the Ghanaian international, who is now a free agent.

Sarfo is expected to attract interest from clubs across Europe and potentially further afield, given his experience and proven track record at both domestic and continental levels.

In a statement acknowledging his exit, APOEL expressed gratitude for Sarfo’s service and contributions during his four-year stay.

The club highlighted his professionalism and dedication, wishing him well in the next phase of his career.

Sarfo, in return, is believed to have expressed appreciation for the support he received from the club and its supporters throughout his tenure, including during challenging periods.

The end of Sarfo’s time in Nicosia marks a significant moment for both player and club.

For APOEL, it signals the need to find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by one of their most experienced wide players.

For Sarfo, it presents a new chapter in a career that has spanned multiple countries and leagues.

As the transfer market unfolds, all eyes will be on where the dynamic winger lands next, with many expecting that his next move will come sooner rather than later.
