Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has eulogized Ghanaian teenage sensation Samuel Amo-Ameyaw for his outstanding performance in the French Ligue 1 against OGC Nice.
The 18-year-old, who the French Ligue 1 side in the January transfer window earned his second start on Saturday as his outfit played out a 2-2 home draw with Nice.
Amo-Ameyaw scored his second of the campaign to give Strasbourg a 2-1 lead. However, stoppage time goal from Youssouf Ndayishimiye propelled Nice to an all-important draw.
“As soon as you mention his name, I smile!” In further comments to DAZN, he said, “He’s a great talent, who already has exceptional maturity for his age.” Said Strasbourg manager.
Amo-Ameyaw joined Strasbourg on loan in January from Southampton and is settling swiftly into life in the East of France.
Meanwhile, Strasbourg has an option to make the deal permanent for €7 million at the end of the loan spell.
The draw was enough for Lille OSC to jump into fourth ahead of Strasbourg on goal difference. Both Lille and Strasbourg could fall further down the table tonight if Olympique Lyonnais win against AJ Auxerre.
