Swiss-born Ghanaian midfielder Tyron Owusu delivered a standout performance as Luzern secured a thrilling 4-3 victory against Winterthur at Stadion Schützenwiese in Swiss Super League action.
The game began at a blistering pace, with Luzern taking an early lead in the 3rd minute. Owusu, showcasing his vision and precision, played a perfectly weighted pass on the break to Thibault Klidje, who slotted home to make it 1-0. Despite his solid midfield presence, Winterthur fought back with goals from Antoine Baroan, Matteo Di Giusto, and Nishan Burkart, taking a 3-2 lead by halftime.
Luzern, however, never relented. A dramatic finale saw Severin Ottiger equalize in the 92nd minute, before Adrian Grbic completed the comeback just a minute later with a composed finish.
Owusu, substituted in the 75th minute, contributed significantly to Luzern’s midfield stability, completing his 16th league appearance of the season. The win extends Luzern’s dominance in their head-to-head record against Winterthur to 10 victories.
Next, Luzern faces Lausanne on January 19th, looking to build on this momentum.
