Ghanaian midfielder Dixon Mohammed joins Hapoel Afula from Maccabi Haifa on loan

Ghanaian midfielder Dixon Mohammed has joined Hapoel Afula from Maccabi Haifa on loan, completing his move to the Israeli club on 9 September 2026.

The 18-year-old central midfielder switches from Maccabi Haifa, who play in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al, to Hapoel Afula of Liga Leumit. The transfer keeps Mohammed in Israeli football while moving him to a club competing in the country’s second tier.

Mohammed was born on 9 June 2008 and represents Ghana. He operates primarily in central midfield, with his arrival giving Hapoel Afula an additional option in the middle of the pitch.

The loan forms part of the 2026-27 season and is scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. There is no permanent transfer fee attached to the move, with Mohammed remaining a Maccabi Haifa player during his spell at Hapoel Afula.

Maccabi Haifa remain the player’s parent club, while Hapoel Afula become his current side for the duration of the agreement. The move was recorded on 9 September, with Mohammed beginning his spell at the Liga Leumit club immediately.

Mohammed’s switch comes at the start of the 2026-27 campaign and represents a temporary change of club for the Ghanaian teenager. His position is listed as central midfield, and the agreement provides a defined return date to Maccabi Haifa.

He will return to Maccabi Haifa at the end of the loan on 30 June 2027.
