David Abagna came off the bench to seal APOEL Nicosia’s 3-1 victory over FC Noah in their UEFA Conference League Round 5 clash on Thursday.
The Ghanaian midfielder made an immediate impact, scoring in the dying moments of the game to ensure the three points for his side.
The match kicked off with APOEL taking the lead in the 23rd minute through Issam Chebake, who rose highest to head in from close range after a well-delivered corner. FC Noah equalized just before the break in added time as Matheus Aiás fired home from six yards, following a set-piece delivery from Gonçalo Silva.
Georgi Kostadinov put APOEL back in front in the 89th minute, finishing from close range after a corner. As the match neared its conclusion, Abagna sealed the win in the 90+3 minute, slotting home a low right-footed shot from the center of the box.
With this victory, APOEL Nicosia now turns their focus to the Cyprus League as they face Enosis Paralimni on December 15th.
