Salim Musah has officially signed his first professional contract with Werder Bremen, committing his future to the Bundesliga club until 2028.

The 19-year-old Ghanaian-German striker has earned the deal following an exceptional campaign with the club’s youth side, where his goal-scoring instincts and consistent performances drew the attention of Bremen’s senior management.

His new contract marks a major turning point in his development and signals the club’s growing confidence in his long-term potential.

Musah was one of the standout performers in Werder Bremen’s U19 squad last season. He netted an impressive 20 goals across 24 competitive matches, including a decisive strike in the final of the DFB-Pokal U19 competition, helping his team secure the prestigious youth cup. His ability to deliver in high-pressure moments has been a hallmark of his rise through the youth ranks.

The club’s decision to hand Musah a five-year contract underscores the faith they have in his abilities and his future contribution to the senior team.

Werder Bremen made the announcement through an official statement on their website, confirming that the young striker has signed professional terms and will continue his development within the club’s structure.

“Salim has shown great quality throughout the season,” said a representative of the club. “His performances with the U19s have been outstanding, and we’re excited to see how he continues to grow as part of the professional setup.”

Musah’s journey through the youth system has been marked by steady progression, technical improvement, and an unwavering focus on his craft.

The dual-national forward, who holds both Ghanaian and German citizenship, has caught the attention of scouts and coaches alike with his clinical finishing, intelligent movement, and maturity beyond his years.

For the player himself, the contract represents the fulfilment of a major dream and a clear validation of his hard work over recent years.

Signing professional terms with a top-flight German club is a significant achievement and a platform from which he hopes to launch the next phase of his career.

“It’s a proud moment for me and my family,” Musah said following the announcement. “I’ve worked hard for this, and I’m grateful to the club for the belief they’ve shown in me. Now I want to keep improving and help the team in any way I can.”

Musah will now look to integrate into the senior squad, with the possibility of featuring in pre-season matches and training regularly under the guidance of the first-team coaching staff.

While competition for places remains high, his performances at youth level have already suggested he could become a future asset for the Bundesliga side.

As Werder Bremen continues to invest in its youth development system, the signing of Musah to professional terms stands as a testament to the club’s long-term vision.

With his new deal in place, all eyes will now be on how the young striker adapts to senior football and whether he can replicate his prolific form on a bigger stage.
