Beitar Jerusalem fought back to secure a 1-1 draw with Ironi Tiberias in an intense Israeli Premier League clash on Monday evening.
Ghanaian attacker Patrick Twumasi played a pivotal role, delivering a crucial assist in the 69th minute to Silva Kani, who equalized with a clinical finish from close range.
Ironi Tiberias had taken the lead in the 57th minute when Jordan Botaka slotted home from the penalty spot after a foul in the box. Despite being a man down due to a red card shown to Yonatan Teper in the 42nd minute, Tiberias maintained their pressure.
Twumasi, who lasted 87 minutes on the field, was a constant threat for Beitar Jerusalem, combining well with his teammates and creating several chances. His assist for Kani was a moment of class that kept Beitar’s hopes alive.
The match saw numerous yellow cards and a tense atmosphere as both teams battled hard. With this draw, Beitar Jerusalem will look ahead to their State Cup match against Maccabi Ironi Acre on December 29th.
