Watford’s struggles in the Championship continued as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers (QPR) at Loftus Road on Wednesday night.
Ghanaian attacker Kwadwo Baah provided a glimmer of hope for the visitors with a stunning strike but couldn’t prevent another disappointing outing for the Hornets.
The game began in disastrous fashion for Watford, with Michael Frey slotting home for QPR in the fifth minute after latching onto Kieran Morgan’s delivery. Jimmy Dunne doubled the hosts’ advantage in the 37th minute, heading in a perfectly placed cross from Ilias Chair.
Kwadwo Baah reignited Watford’s chances early in the second half. In the 55th minute, he unleashed a right-footed effort from the right side of the box, finishing clinically into the bottom corner after being teed up by Giorgi Chakvetadze.
However, QPR responded almost immediately, with Sam Field heading in from close range following Paul Smyth’s assist to seal the 3-1 victory.
Watford next face Sheffield United on January 4, while QPR meet Luton on January 6.
