Germany-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Derrick Köhn, is reportedly set to sign for Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin this week.
Despite interest from Werder Bremen, sources have revealed that the versatile defender is leaning towards Union Berlin.
The 26-year-old left-back spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Bremen, where he made 30 competitive appearances, scoring two goals and providing two assists. While Bremen explored the possibility of signing him outright, Köhn now looks set to continue his Bundesliga journey with Union.
According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Union Berlin have submitted an official offer to Galatasaray for the defender.
Fellow reporter Ferhat Kiziltas has gone further, stating that an agreement has already been reached between the two clubs.
The deal is believed to be worth €5 million, with Galatasaray also set to receive a ten per cent share of any future resale.
Köhn’s pending switch to Union Berlin would mark another significant step in his career.
He will be back home in a country where he grew up and started his football career.
