The Sudan national team has arrived in Oman ahead of their friendly match against the Omani national team on Thursday. The match is part of Sudan’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sudan’s Ghanaian head coach Kwesi Appiah arrived with the team despite the issues surrounding his salary and all that.

The Falcons of Jediane are set to play two crucial games against Senegal and South Sudan on March 22 and 25 in Group B of the qualifiers. The results of these matches will be key to their chances of reaching the World Cup.

Coach Appiah has called up four new players to strengthen the squad. The Ghanaian has also made a surprising decision to cancel a proposed friendly against Jordan, choosing to focus on the match against Oman at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.

The friendly is expected to feature several debutants for Sudan. Among them is Mustafa Naji, a midfielder from Al-Merrikh SC, Amer Abdullah, a winger from Green Gully SC in Australia, Jamal Ali, a defensive midfielder from Hills United FC in Australia, and Amir Ibrahim, who plays for West Adelaide SC in Australia.

All four new players have already joined Sudan’s training sessions and could make their first appearance for the national team against Oman.
