Ghana international Ernest Nuamah has successfully undergone surgery on Tuesday morning after suffering a horrific injury early April.
Nuamah was forced off with an injury just five minutes into Lyon’s game against Lille on April 6, 2025. The former Nordjaelland star sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury to his left knee following a ground duel with Lille defender Gabriel Gudmundsson.
The Black Stars winger underwent the surgery in a private hospital by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet to correct his injury.
Meanwhile, Lyon has offered full support to the talented Ghana international, promising to do everything possible to ensure his return to fitness.
“OL gives its full support to Ernest and will do everything possible to enable him to return in the best possible conditions” wrote the club.
The injury is a huge blow not only to Lyon’s campaign but also to Ghana’s national team, which values Nuamah’s pace, creativity, and work ethic.
Nuamah has made 33 appearances across competitions for Lyon this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists across the period.
