Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku marked his return from injury for Leicester City in their preseason friendly win over Hungarian side Zalaegerszeg.
Issahaku had been sidelined since November 2024 after picking up an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury while in action for Ghana against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The enterprising winger made substitute appearance as the Foxes cruised to a narrow win over their opponent at the weekend.
The former Sporting CP attacker replaced Will Alves in the 68th minute for his first piece of major activity since picking up the serious injury in Angola.
Issahaku’s compatriot, Jordan Ayew fired home the match-winner in the 70th-minute mark as the Foxes recorded second straight preseason victory.
His return come as a huge boost for Ghana ahead of the continuation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Leicester City are adapting to life under new manager Marti Cifuentes and will play friendlies on Friday, July 25 against FC Karpaty Lviv and FC Koln.
