Ghana striker Joel Fameyeh leaves Puskas AFC and becomes a free agent

Ghana centre-forward Joel Fameyeh has left Hungarian side Puskas AFC and is now without a club, ending his spell with the Nemzeti Bajnoksag outfit after 20 months.

The 29-year-old joined Puskas AFC from Russian club Rubin Kazan on 31 January 2025 in a €350,000 transfer. He made the move after returning to Rubin from a loan spell at Baltika, where he had spent the second half of the 2023-24 season.

Fameyeh’s departure was completed on 15 September 2026. No transfer fee was recorded for his move away from Puskas AFC.

The Kumasi-born forward began his senior career in Ghana with Asokwa Warriors before moving to Wa All Stars. He also had an earlier loan spell at Belshina in Belarus, before joining Dynamo Brest in 2016.

His time at Dynamo Brest brought the most successful period of his career. Fameyeh won the Belarusian Cup twice, in 2017 and 2018, and added the Belarusian Super Cup in both 2018 and 2019. He also helped the club claim the Belarusian championship in the 2018-19 season.

Fameyeh moved from Dynamo Brest to Orenburg in July 2019 for €150,000. He later joined Rubin Kazan on a free transfer in July 2022 and was part of the side that won the Russian second tier in 2023.

During his time in Russia, Fameyeh spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Baltika before returning to Rubin. His subsequent move to Puskas AFC took him back to Hungary, where he remained until his latest departure.

A right-footed striker standing 1.80m tall, Fameyeh is now without a club following the completion of his departure from Puskas AFC.
