Ghana right-back Kuffour Asamoah joins Fafe from Berekum Chelsea

Ghanaian right-back Kuffour Asamoah has joined Portuguese club Fafe from Berekum Chelsea, completing a move to the Liga 3 side on 31 July 2026.

The 20-year-old has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028. The move takes Asamoah out of the Ghanaian Premier League and into the Portuguese third tier, where he will continue his career with Fafe.

Asamoah made 96 Premier League appearances for Berekum Chelsea, contributing two assists and playing 6,877 minutes in the competition. His experience at senior level comes despite his age and forms the main part of his playing background before the switch to Portugal.

Born in Berekum on 7 January 2006, Asamoah stands 1.82 metres tall and operates primarily as a defender on the right side. He is naturally right-footed, a profile that matches the position he has occupied throughout his recorded senior career.

The transfer also represents a move between clubs from different footballing environments. Berekum Chelsea are based in Ghana, while Fafe compete in Portugal’s Liga 3, giving Asamoah a new domestic competition and his first recorded club change outside his previous team.

Fafe’s new signing arrives with a market value of €50,000 and a contract that keeps him at the club until the end of June 2028. Asamoah’s arrival was registered at the start of the 2026-27 season, formally ending his time with Berekum Chelsea.

The Ghana defender has therefore exchanged Berekum for Fafe and will continue his career in Portugal under a deal lasting two seasons beyond the 2026-27 campaign.
