Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is scheduled to link up with his new Villarreal CF teammates on Friday, August 8, as he prepares to begin the next chapter of his career in Spain.
The 32-year-old Black Stars midfielder will take part in his first training session with the Yellow Submarine that same day, as part of the club’s pre-season preparations ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Villarreal confirmed the news via an official announcement on social media following the completion of Partey’s move.
“Villarreal CF and Thomas Partey have reached an agreement for the Ghanaian footballer to join the Yellows ahead of the 2025/26 season. The player will join up with his new team tomorrow at the Training Ground,” the club posted on Facebook.
Partey joins Villarreal as a free agent after parting ways with Arsenal upon the expiration of his contract.
A former Atletico Madrid player, he returns to La Liga with a wealth of experience and is expected to play a key role in bolstering Villarreal’s midfield for the new season.
