Norwich City midfielder Forson Amankwah has set his sights on representing Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the tournament slated to be hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico, the Black Stars are close to securing their spot in the prestigious competition.
Their qualification campaign received a major boost earlier this year after consecutive victories over Chad and Madagascar in Matchday 5 and 6 fixtures.
Having made his senior national team debut just a year ago, Amankwah remains determined to feature at football’s biggest stage.
Speaking to Flashscore, he said, “Definitely, I’m dreaming of going to the World Cup because if you’re a football player, especially a young player playing in the World Cup says a lot.
“I think it’s really good to be part, because I want to be part, so I need to do everything to be part of the squad,” he added.
Ghana currently lead Group I with 15 points and will face Chad and Mali in September’s Matchday 7 and 8 games, before concluding their qualifiers against Comoros and the Central African Republic in October.
As four-time African champions, the Black Stars are eager to add a World Cup appearance to their storied legacy.
