Ghana forward Inaki Williams ruled out of Athletic Bilbao’s clash against Manchester United
Ghana international Inaki Williams has been ruled out of the upcoming UEFA Europa League semifinals clash between Manchester United and Athletic Bilbao.
Williams is currently carrying a muscle injury, missing out of Athletic Bilbao’s trip to Manchester.
His absence will surely affect Athletic Bilbao, who are seeking to overturn the 3-0 deficit in the return fixture to secure a place in the final.
“Inaki Williams is not included in the squad list for the trip to Manchester. The striker has not been called up for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford due to a muscle injury to the hamstring of his right hamstring” a statement from the club reads.
Meanwhile, the return of the Ghana international remains unknown: “It remains to be seen whether it will evolve”
The Black Stars attacker was forced off with an injury as his outfit settled for a goalless draw with Real Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga last Sunday. Williams had to be subbed off in the 62nd-minute.
The former Spain international, who has been an important player for Athletic Bilbao this season hopes to recover in time to complete the campaign.
The 30-year-old has made 48 appearances for Athletic Bilbao this season, scoring 11 goals and delivering 9 assists across competitions.
