Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante targets goals, assists and Premier League impact
Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante is targeting a place among the Premier League’s best performers this season as he looks to improve his goalscoring and assist numbers for Coventry City.
The 27-year-old set out his ambitions after providing an assist in Coventry’s 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night, his fourth start of the campaign.
Thomas-Asante has made seven league appearances since Coventry returned to the English top flight, recording two goal contributions as he continues to establish himself at the club.
Despite the team’s difficult start, the Ghana international remains determined to raise his individual standards and make a greater impact in the final third.
“I want to be the best. So that starts with getting goals, getting assists and being effective,” he said after the defeat.
“On an individual performance level, I want to make sure I’m physically imposing myself on games and showing my technical quality as well.
“But, you know, it’s early days, and we’re going to keep on building,” he added.
Coventry have endured a challenging return to the Premier League, collecting two wins from their opening seven matches.
They currently sit 17th in the standings, just one point above the relegation zone, leaving them with little room for error as the season progresses.
