Ghana striker Benjamin Tetteh was on target for Maribor in their commanding 4-0 victory over Nafta on Sunday evening in the Slovenian top-flight league, the PRVA Liga.
The experienced forward played a crucial role in helping Maribor secure the win during the Round 18 clash, held at the Ljudski vrt stadium.
The match started with high intensity as Nafta aimed to make a statement, but their chances were quickly hindered. Just 20 minutes into the first half, Nafta’s Zan Mauricio was shown a straight red card, leaving his team to play with a numerical disadvantage for the remainder of the match.
Maribor quickly capitalized on this advantage. Five minutes after the red card, Marko Bozic opened the scoring for the home side, giving them a 1-0 lead. The first half ended with Nafta struggling to regroup and Maribor leading with a significant advantage.
After the break, Maribor continued to dominate the game, dictating the tempo and controlling possession. In the 53rd minute, Benjamin Tetteh doubled Maribor’s lead, scoring his third goal of the season with a clinical finish.
The hosts didn’t stop there. In the 75th minute, Bozic struck again, securing his brace and pushing the score to 3-0. El Arbi Soudani added a fourth goal to complete the dominant 4-0 victory for Maribor.
Tetteh’s goal, alongside his team’s impressive performance, brings his tally to three goals from six appearances in the Slovenian PRVA Liga this season.
