Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has etched his name into the history books of the English Premier League after scoring in Manchester City’s victory over Fulham on Wednesday.
Semenyo started and played full throttle of the match, as the Sky Blues cruised to a resounding 3-0 victory over their opponent in a highly competitive clash, held at the Etihad Stadium.
The Black Stars attacker played a huge role by scoring and assisting a goal, contributing to the sides’ emphatic win over their opponent.
Semenyo now becomes the highest scoring Ghanaian player in the Premier League (13 goals) in a single season, surpassing Ghana legend Antony Yeboah’s 12 goal mark during the 1995/1996 Premier League campaign.
Yeboah’s tally had stood untouched for nearly three decades. However, the in-form Ghanaian attacker has finally smashed his scoring record in the English top-flight.
The 25-year-old had already come close to equaling Yeboah’s record after netting 11 goals during the 2024/25 football campaign.
Semenyo’s record-breaking strike crowns a remarkable season for the 25-year-old, who has swiftly adapted to life at Manchester City after securing a high-profile move in the winter transfer window.
As the season continues, Semenyo now has the opportunity to extend his record even further, adding another layer to what has already become a historic campaign.
The Ghana international has become an instant hit for Manchester City, scoring seven goals in eight appearances across competitions.
