Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has revealed the key reasons behind his decision to commit his future to Premier League club AFC Bournemouth, despite attracting interest from top clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old has signed a long-term contract extension that will keep him at the south coast club until 2030.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Semenyo emphasized the importance of feeling valued in his choice to remain with the Cherries.
“When you somewhere, you want to feel wanted, and I didn’t feel that elsewhere so this was my safe place,” he said.
“I felt wanted and it’s good to be back. It’s still the best place to be right now” Semenyo added.
Semenyo enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists across 37 league appearances, firmly establishing himself as a key figure in manager Andoni Iraola’s starting lineup.
Looking ahead, the Ghanaian international is expected to play an influential role as Bournemouth aim to build on last season’s successes.
