Desmond Ofei has been appointed as the Director of Coaching Education at the national technical directorate. This significant promotion comes on the heels of Ofei’s tenure as the coach of the under-18 football team, signaling a new phase in his career within the Ghanaian football landscape.
Desmond Ofei, concurrently serving as the high-performance manager in the technical department, faces the task of harmonizing his responsibilities in both capacities.
The appointment aligns with the recent changes in leadership at the GFA, with Professor Mintha assuming the role of technical director following the departure of Bernhard Lippert.
At 36 years old, Desmond Ofei brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Director of Coaching Education. Holding a UEFA A (Level 4) coaching license, Ofei’s coaching journey includes managing the 18-year-old and 21-year-old teams at Royal Antwerp FC.
His career also boasts stints as the manager of the U21 teams for Lokeren and Lusitano SAD.
