The leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will hold an emergency meeting with Premier League clubs on Thursday.
The meeting has been scheduled for 11:00 am on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
This comes following a violent incident which marred the game between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko on Sunday at the Nana Kronmansah Park.
The barbaric incident has led to the death of Asante Kotoko fan known as Francis Yaw Frimpong, widely known as Nana Pooley.
According to the GFA, the meeting will primarily focus on addressing security concerns and other related matters.
Topics expected to be discussed include stadium safety, fan behaviour, and emergency response protocols.
The GFA added that they have been working to improve the overall football experience in Ghana, and this meeting being a critical step in that process, it is expected that the clubs will respond with the needed urgency to this invitation.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has postponed the Matchday 20 games which was expected to take place this weekend.
Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko have both strongly condemned the violent incident and assured full cooperation with authorities to assist in the investigation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Donkor has been assigned to lead the investigation into the incident.
