The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially acknowledged the withdrawal of Nsoatreman FC from the ongoing Premier League following concerns over player safety.
In a letter signed by the club president and sent via the club’s official email on March 14, 2025, Nsoatreman FC cited security concerns as the primary reason for their decision.
The club stated that recent incidents involving matches against Asante Kotoko SC and FC Samartex 1996 had raised serious safety issues, leading the management and board to conclude that they could no longer ensure the well-being of their players.
The GFA has engaged with the club on multiple occasions in an attempt to resolve the matter, but discussions have not yielded a resolution.
As a result, the association has now invoked the relevant provisions of its competition regulations to address the withdrawal.
The case has been referred to the GFA Prosecutor, and disciplinary proceedings will follow in accordance with the regulations, including Article 13(5).
According to Article 13(5), if a club withdraws after the league has commenced, all of its remaining fixtures will be forfeited. Consequently, three points and three goals will automatically be awarded to the opposing team for each scheduled match that Nsoatreman FC fails to fulfill.
With immediate effect, Nsoatreman FC’s remaining fixtures will be treated as forfeited, and their opponents will be granted three points and three goals per match in line with league regulations.
