Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has been appointed as the Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The announcement was made by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe during a press conference held in Accra on Saturday.
Okraku, who secured a seat on the CAF Executive Committee without opposition in March, now moves higher within Africa’s football leadership hierarchy.
His nomination for the role was put forward by Dr. Motsepe and subsequently approved by the CAF Executive Committee during its meeting in the Ghanaian capital.
He will serve alongside Morocco’s Fouzi Lekjaa, who has been named CAF’s First Vice President, succeeding Senegal FA President Augustine Senghor.
Okraku replaces Ahmed Yahya, reinforcing West Africa’s continued strong presence within CAF’s leadership structure.
In addition, Gabon’s Pierre-Alain Mounguengui was appointed Third Vice President.
DR Congo’s Bestine Kazadi Ditabala has also been named Fourth Vice President, making history as a trailblazer for women in African football leadership.
Mozambique’s Feizal Sidat has taken up the role of Fifth Vice President.
With a long career in football administration, including as former President of the Mozambican Football Federation, Sidat brings deep experience and ensures robust representation for Southern Africa within CAF’s leadership.
