Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has confirmed the FA owes Otto Addo four months unpaid salaries.
Speaking in an interview, Asante Twum confirmed the unpaid wages but also hinted that they are in talks with the Sports Ministry to ensure the outstanding debt is paid.
“It is true that we owe Otto Addo. The last time I checked with the Sports Ministry, there were salaries in arrears which is not new,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
“We owe Otto Addo four months’ salary arrears. We have had a series of meetings with the Sports Ministry about the outstanding payment and Otto Addo himself is aware of how difficult it is to get the monies from government but we are still working on it,” Asante Twum added.
Otto Addo’s future is uncertain after failing to guide the Black Stars to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament having finished at the bottom of Group F.
After six games, the Black Stars amassed three points after recording three draws and three defeats.
Otto Addo, who was reappointed in March 2024 on a three-year deal with an option of a two-year deal is on a $50,000 monthly salary.
