The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to meet with Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on Wednesday, November 27, to review the team’s performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The meeting, scheduled by the GFA Executive Council, will focus on discussing the technical report submitted by Addo and provide a platform for a thorough assessment of the team’s journey during the qualifiers.
This meeting is part of the GFA’s ongoing efforts to evaluate the Black Stars’ technical strategies and plan for the future of Ghana’s national football team.
The decision to engage with Otto Addo follows a series of discussions within the Executive Council, which took place last week.
A statement from the GFA confirmed the meeting, noting that the primary purpose is to review the technical report of the just-concluded qualifiers, as well as to analyse the overall performance of the technical team under Addo’s leadership since he assumed the position earlier this year.
The report is expected to offer key insights into the reasons behind the team’s failure to qualify for the upcoming AFCON tournament in Morocco.
“The Executive Council will meet the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Mr. Otto Addo, on the 27th of November, 2024, to discuss his Technical report on the just-ended AFCON qualifiers and the overall performance of the Technical team since assuming duty earlier this year,” a statement from the GFA said.
Additionally, the meeting comes at a time when the Black Stars are under significant scrutiny, following their disappointing elimination from the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to guide the GFA’s decisions on the way forward for the team, with many anticipating that changes could be made in an attempt to revitalise the squad ahead of future international fixtures.
In a related development, the Executive Council recently made the decision to dissolve the Management Committee of the Black Stars.
