Ghana defender Nicholas Opoku agrees long-term move to UD Las Palmas

Nicholas Opoku has completed a move from Kasımpasa to UD Las Palmas, with the Ghana international joining the Spanish club after leaving Turkey’s Super Lig.

The 29-year-old central defender has signed a two-season contract with the LaLiga 2 side. The agreement will keep him at UD Las Palmas until 30 June 2028, giving the club an experienced addition to its defensive options.

Opoku’s transfer brings an end to his time with Kasımpasa and marks the beginning of a new chapter in Spain. After playing in Turkey’s top flight, he will now continue his career with the Amarillos as they work towards their objectives this season.

The move is intended to strengthen the centre of the UD Las Palmas defence. Club officials have secured a player whose experience includes international football with Ghana’s Black Stars, as well as a significant spell competing in the Super Lig.

At 29, Opoku arrives with the experience the Spanish side wants to add to its back line. His international background and time in Turkish football are expected to provide greater knowledge and authority within the defensive unit.
