AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has opened up on his development since joining the French Ligue 1 side.
After an injury-hit first season, the Ghana international has established himself as a pivotal figure in Monaco’s backline following his transfer from Southampton.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Salisu highlighted the strides he has made both on and off the ball.
“I think I have progressed with and without the ball. With our way of playing, we play with the ball very often,” he said.
“As a defender, we have to be good with the ball at our feet and without the ball, I feel like I am winning more duels and making more interceptions compared to last season,” Salisu added.
The former Real Valladolid player made his seventh appearance of the season during Monaco’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Olympique Marseille last weekend.
Despite the loss, Monaco remains in a strong position, sitting third in the Ligue 1 table.
Salisu will hope to propel his side back to winning ways when they host Toulouse FC at Stade Louis II on Sunday, December 8.
