Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has emerged as a top transfer target for Greek giants Olympiacos in the current transfer window.
Salisu, Salisu has yet to pin down a regular place in the starting lineup since 2023 could depart French outfit AS Monaco before the closure of the summer transfer window, having attracted significant interest.
The enterprising Black Stars centre-back was mostly used as a back-up option, marking just 24 appearances across competitions for the French club last season.
He initially struggled with injuries in his first season at Monaco, and despite starting more regularly in his second campaign, he eventually became a backup option.
However, the former Southampton star is said to be eyeing a move away from Monaco as he seeks for regular playing time this season, with Olympiacos expressing firm interest in the defender.
Salisu last start for Monaco was back in February. However, the arrival of England top defender Eric Dier possess more threats to Salisu’s future at Monaco.
Meanwhile, Olympiacos faces stiffer competition from Crystal Palace, who are said to have contracted Monaco for the loan acquisition of the Ghana international.
The defender joined Monaco in summer 2023, signing a five-year deal with the Principality club.
Since joining Monaco, the Black Stars defender has racked up 37 appearances, scoring three goals and an assist across the period.
