Ghana international, Mohammed Salisu, was in action for AS Monaco on Sunday evening when the team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to PSG in the French Super Cup final.
The Black Stars centre-back started the game in the heart of his team’s defense and put up a decent performance.
Unfortunately, for him and his teammates, a late goal from PSG meant they missed out on lifting the trophy.
The only goal of the game was scored by Frenchman Ousmane Dembele in added time of the second half after the winger was assisted with a lovely pass from Fabian Ruiz.
With just a few seconds left that that lovely goal, AS Monaco could not react and painfully succumbed to the 1-0 defeat at full time.
Ghana’s Mohammed Salisu played the full 90 minutes of the game today.
Mohammed Salisu and his AS Monaco teammates must now shift focus to the French Ligue 1 and hope to secure that silverware at the end of the ongoing 2024/25 football season.
PSG’s victory today means they have lifted the Trophée des Champions for the 11th time in the last 12 editions.
