Italian Serie A club Fiorentina have secured the services of Ghana international Tariq Lamptey from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The transfer, reportedly worth £6 million including add-ons, marks a new chapter for the 23-year-old right-back.
Lamptey, who will wear the number 48 jersey, is expected to serve as a backup to Brazilian defender Dodo.
His final season at Brighton was disrupted by recurring injuries, restricting him to just 15 appearances. Despite limited playing time, he contributed two goals and several assists.
The 23-year-old did not feature in Brighton’s opening three matches of the new season against Fulham, Everton, and Oxford United.
Since moving from Chelsea to Brighton, Lamptey amassed 104 appearances, scoring three goals, and became known for his versatility along the flank.
Lamptey is now set to join his Black Stars teammates as Ghana prepare for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures against Chad and Mali scheduled later this month.
