Ghana defender Christopher Acheampong makes Lokomotiv GO move from CSKA 1948

Ghanaian right-back Christopher Acheampong has joined Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa from CSKA 1948 on loan until 30 June 2027.

The 26-year-old switches clubs after returning to CSKA 1948 at the end of last season, when his temporary spell with Montana concluded. Acheampong had spent the 2025-26 campaign with Montana on loan from CSKA 1948 before going back to his parent club on 30 June.

He becomes a Lokomotiv GO player for the 2026-27 season, with the move taking him from the efbet Liga to the Vtora Liga. The agreement is a loan transfer, and the planned end date is 30 June 2027.

Acheampong is a right-footed defender who operates primarily at right-back. Born on 31 March 2000, he stands 1.71m tall and represents Ghana at international level.

The full-back joined CSKA 1948’s senior set-up from the club’s second team in January 2025. Before that, he had played for CSKA 1948 II after moving from Accra Lions in February 2022.

His move to CSKA 1948 II followed a spell with Accra Lions, whom he joined on a free transfer in March 2020. The switch to Lokomotiv GO therefore represents another temporary move in a run of transfers between Bulgarian clubs since his arrival in the country.

Acheampong’s recent playing record also includes his 2025-26 loan at Montana, where he was contracted from CSKA 1948. After that spell ended, he returned to CSKA 1948 before securing the latest move to Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa.

He joins a Lokomotiv side competing in the Vtora Liga and has a market value of €150,000. His CSKA 1948 contract remains connected to the loan arrangement, with the transfer record indicating that he is due to return to the club when the spell ends.

The move was completed on 14 August 2026, giving Acheampong a fresh opportunity to continue his career in Bulgaria while remaining under contract with CSKA 1948.

Christopher Acheampong is now a Lokomotiv GO player on loan from CSKA 1948 through 30 June 2027.
