Ghana dealt Antoine Semenyo injury blow before 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Ghana will be without Antoine Semenyo for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches after the forward suffered an ankle injury.

Semenyo has been ruled out of the Black Stars’ latest international camp because of significant swelling to his right ankle. The injury means Ghana must prepare for the qualifiers without one of their key attacking options.

The Manchester City striker has been a regular starter for the club and has made a convincing offensive start to the season. His absence is therefore a setback for the Ghana manager ahead of the forthcoming fixtures.

Semenyo has remained at Manchester City’s training centre, where he is being treated by the club’s medical staff. Further examinations will be carried out to establish the precise length of his recovery.
