Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo seeks January exit from Bournemouth

Ghana coach Otto Addo has backed Black Stars attacker Antoine Semenyo to depart Bournemouth amid growing interest.

Semenyo has attracted significant interest ahead of the winter window, following an outstanding performance for the Cherries this season.

The Ghana international started the Premier League season on fire before his momentum slowed slightly, but still boasts of an impressive record for Bournemouth this season.

He has featured in thirteen matches in the Premier League, scoring six goals and providing three assists.

However, Otto Addo insists the in-demand attacker is ready for the next step of his career, signaling a potential Bournemouth departure.

“He has done very well at Bournemouth, but with all the respect for Bournemouth and what they’re doing, surely it is natural for him to take the next step,” Addo told The Athletic.

“Whether it’s in the winter or summer, it is a difference question but it won’t make a difference for us. I’m looking forward to him showing more of what he can to the world.”

Semenyo’s contract includes a £65 million release clause, but it’s only active until a certain date in the January transfer window. In the summer, the fee is expected to drop to £50 million.
