The head coach of Ghana, Otto Addo, has named five new players in his Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup.
They include goalkeeper Joseph Tetteh Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland, Barcelona B’s Abdul Aziz Issah, Aaron Essel of North Texas SC, Caleb Yirenkyi of Danish side FC Nordsjælland, and Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini, who plays for Union St. Gilloise in Belgium.
All five players have shown promise in the past year and have earned their shot in the national team.
It is up to them to prove in camp and at the Unity Cup that they belong to the Black Stars.
At the end of the tournament in England, their impression on Coach Otto Addo will determine their chances in the national team in the future.
The 2025 Unity Cup will feature not just Ghana but Nigeria, Jamaica, as well as Trinidad and Tobago.
At the tournament, Ghana will face Nigeria at the GTech Community Stadium in West London on Wednesday, May 28, for a place in the final on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Before that game, Jamaica will also face off with Trinidad and Tobago and the first game of the tournament.
