Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is nearing a long-term contract extension, effectively ending rumors of a potential transfer to Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Ghana-born Canadian international, whose current deal was set to expire in June 2025, had attracted interest from the Spanish giants over the past year.

Negotiations between Davies’ representative, Nedal Househ, and Bayern Munich have reportedly progressed well, with an agreement expected imminently.

The proposed contract will tie Davies to Bayern until 2030, with an annual salary of €15 million gross. This extension solidifies his future at the German club and halts Real Madrid’s pursuit.

Real Madrid had been closely monitoring Davies as a solution for their left-back position.

However, reports suggest the club’s management grew disillusioned with the demands of his agent and Bayern’s valuation of the player, which was reportedly near €50 million.

With Davies committed to staying in Munich, Real Madrid will now explore other options to strengthen their defense.

The Spanish side currently relies on Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia but could also consider recalling Miguel Gutierrez from his loan spell.
